Django Unchained (spoiler alert!!)

So recently, I re-watched a movie called Django Unchained because I really enjoyed it the first time. After watching this movie again I realized that Django was actually a superhero in many ways. The movie Django Unchained was about a slave that was freed after a bounty hunter freed him from his new owners. After being freed his new owner (the bounty hunter) offered him a chance to make some money and get his freedom. Django accepted this offer and learned a new trade in bounty hunting. While he learned these new skills he became an expert at using any western gun.
Django unlike many superheroes does not have any superpowers. The powers that he does have  are similar to Batman. He an expert at using any western guns and was capable of shooting at multiple moving targets at lightning speeds. Another ability that Django possessed was that he simply couldn’t  be harmed by bullets. There a scene in the movie were Django goes against basically a whole army of gun sling slave owners. Never once does he get shot but he kills at least  40 men (I might be underestimating)  or more.  Django last ability was in his confidence and rhetorical. He was able to convinced the slave owners that  he was one of them and by gaining their trust he was able to saved his wife at the end of  the movie.

  1. I have never seen the movie, but it sounds much like we have discussed in class; that we, as a society, still enjoy the idea of superhero stories, but we like the plot and not the tights and masks that come with it. I would have to agree, because I feel childish watching a movie with a guy running around in some ridiculous clothing. A superhero doesn't have to super-powers like Superman, they just need to ultimately serve the greater good and sacrifice everything for that cause regardless the consequences.
